ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Taking a hot air balloon ride during the Balloon Fiesta’s mass ascension is a popular bucket list item. At hundreds of dollars a ride and limited availability, it’s something most people have to pass up.

But this weekend, you could get lucky.

Uber is taking their service to new heights in Albuquerque. Three users will get the chance to win a hot air balloon ride during Saturday morning’s mass ascension.

"It’s super cool as an Uber user that they would do something that awesome," Fiesta visitor Deborah Epstein said. "It’s the most beautiful event I’ve ever been to."

There’s no need to book in advance. All you have to do is be quick. The window to "request balloon" through the app begins at 4 a.m. Saturday morning, and it won’t last long. With the only expense being an early wake-up call, festival-goers said it’s a price they’re willing to pay.

"I don’t care," Mike Gill said. "That has nothing to do with anything, I’ll be glad to get up."

Three people will be selected to go up with local company Rainbow Ryders. If you are a lucky winner, Uber will contact you to confirm your ride then pick you up to take you to the park. They’ll even let you bring a friend to share the experience with.
