ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – About 5,200 runners woke up early, strapped on their sneakers and hit the downtown Albuquerque streets Sunday morning for the 34th annual Duke City Marathon.

Beautiful weather created perfect running conditions for those who came out, whether they were running or cheering on participants.

Event officials say this year was a huge success.

“I consider this our best year yet,” said Burt Trembly, who sits on the Duke City Marathon Board. “We had almost record attendance overall. We had seven races and those races broke their all-time attendance records.”

Race results can be seen on the marathon’s website.
