ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police said that a male was found dead a little before 2:00 a.m. Sunday at the MCM Elegante near Menaul and University.

It is unclear whether police found the victim first, but APD says it is investigating the death as a homicide.

Witnesses who were at the hotel told KOB they didn't hear any gunshots, but did hear sounds of people fighting.

"There was some real shouting and it was apparent that a fight was taking place," said Debra Good. "It sounded like it was right outside our door."

Good said she was concerned whatever was going on would spill into her room.

"Something told me, 'Back away from the door,'" she said. "I was afraid a stray bullet would come through the door. I mean, it was an angry, angry outburst. This was not roughhousing or scuffling."

Good said the fight would grow louder and then calm down. Police arrived soon after.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 505-843-STOP.
