ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy is on administrative leave following a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, BCSO officials said Monday.

Brendan McClure, 28, died in the crash, which is being investigated by APD. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department will also conduct its own internal investigation.

Albuquerque police said speed didn't appear to be a factor.

The incident occurred Sunday morning near the intersection of Coors Blvd SW and Gun Club SW, according to a BCSO statement. Deputy Johann Jareno said the crash occurred early Sunday morning while the deputy was on patrol.

Sheriff Manuel Gonzales III offers "his most sincere condolences to the family of the victim as well as his support to the Deputy and his family during this difficult times," Jareno said.
