ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A repeat burglar who plagued a group of local businesses has admitted to the crimes.

Nicholas Smith pleaded guilty to 23 charges, including commercial burglary, larceny and criminal damage to property. Police arrested him arrested earlier this year for repeat break-ins at Green Jeans Farmery near I-40 and Carlisle.

Smith was then let out of jail on the recommendation of the court's risk assessment tool, only to get arrested again.

He now faces 25 years in prison. The Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office said he will receive his sentence in six weeks.
