Councilor Dan Lewis is expected to introduce a resolution that could shut down construction on the project. He is calling for an evaluation of ART.

He said if research shows the project has a negative impact on businesses and traffic, the resolution could force the city to reopen dedicated bus lanes to general traffic.

"It's a great example of counting chickens before they hatch," Lewis said. "It's not the kind of leadership that we need when it comes to projects in the City of Albuquerque when it comes to core infrastructure projects."

Lewis is also concerned about the environmental impact of the ART project.
