Excessive heat watch issued for NM

ALBUQUERQUE , N.M. - The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued an Excessive Heat Watch, which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening. The affected area includes the Northwest Plateau and Middle Rio Grande Valley, including Albuquerque and Farmington.

Highs will vary between 100 to 105 degrees each afternoon with some locally hotter readings at the lowest elevations of the Middle Rio Grande Valley.

Very hot temperatures with low humidity will increase the risk for dehydration and heat related illnesses. Limit your exposure to the sun and shift timing of outdoor activities to the morning and late evening hours.
