Eye on New Mexico: Where have all the nurses gone?

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The state’s nursing shortage is so bad that the New Mexico Health Department has had to step in and help come up with ways it can retain medical professionals.

And it’s doing so in the midst of a nationwide shortage, making it even more of an urgent issue for New Mexicans. On this week’s Eye on New Mexico, KOB’s Colton Shone and Eddie Garcia delve into the factors that are leading to nurses leaving for other states, and the possible solutions that are being explored.
