Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and used “aggressive” measures to bring the fire under control, due to high wind conditions.

The high winds and dry conditions are reported to have presented a challenge for firefighters, but they were able to contain the fire to only six acres.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Units will remain on scene to deal with any possible flare ups.

Montano is fully reopened, but drivers are advised to watch for emergency vehicles in the area.
