Woman linked to web of crime pleads guilty

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A woman accused of stealing a house pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges Friday.

The charges against Melissa Willis included things like embezzlement, fraud, breaking and entering, and forging a title. She faces up to 21 years total in punishment, but she'll have a cap of 15 years on her prison time.

The district attorney's office says full restitution will be ordered for every victim. Sentencing is set for Feb. 8.

Here is the full list of charges against Willis:

  • Embezzlement of a motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit embezzlement of motor vehicle
  • Forgery under $2,500
  • Two counts of fraud over $2,500
  • Receiving stolen property over $20,000
  • Breaking and entering
  • Conspiracy to commit shoplifting
  • Conspiracy to commit fraudulent use of a credit card
  • Forgery (Instrument affecting title to property)
