Albuquerque police apprehended a carjacking suspect after they say he threw a woman and her child out of a vehicle.

According to the APD Twitter account, officers arrested 22-year-old Joshua Ortega. Police say the incident began when officers tried trying to stop Ortega and Jonathan Midyette, who were in a stolen car.

Midyette got out at one point and was arrested.

According to police, Ortega later carjacked the mother and her 2-year-old child, and the pursuit was called off.
