Police identify man who allegedly pointed gun at people downtown

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque Police Department officials have named the suspect involved in Saturday’s incident downtown when officers responded to reports of a man pointing a gun at people.

Officials said Monday afternoon that 25-year-old Jeremias Robertson was in the hospital and undergoing surgery after being shot by an officer who responded to the incident and determined that “a threat was presented.”

That officer, whose identity has yet to be released, is on paid leave. Officials did say he is an 11-year APD veteran.
