Semi-truck hauling vehicles catches fire Sunday evening

A semi-truck on fire forced eastbound I-40 at Rio Grande to shut down Sunday evening.

The Albuquerque Fire Department says the driver noticed smoke coming from the back of the truck. He got out and began calling a mechanic when the truck went up in flames.

There is no indication yet what caused the fire.

The semi was hauling several vehicles to Massachusetts. Three of them burned, but nobody was hurt.
