Chino is facing other charges in connection with a bizarre robbery before the alleged carjacking attempt. According to the criminal complaint, the Chino’s crime spree started Monday evening when he walked into the Church's Chicken off of Louisiana and Zuni and robbed it.

Chino is accused of pointing a knife at one of the employees before robbing the fast food restaurant. According to court documents, Chino told the worker, "You know the drill, get moving." That's when the employee pressed the panic button and gave Chino money from the register.

According to the criminal complaint, Chino asked the employee for a piece of chicken. As the employee started loading up a box of chicken, Chino stopped the worker and insisted he only wanted one piece. Police say the worker gave Chino the piece of chicken and Chino left.

Ten minutes later and a block away, police say Chino jumped into a running van parked in the driveway of a family’s home. A 2-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were inside the van waiting for their father who was still inside the house.

Chino is accused of punching the 15-year-old, who told police, "that he was afraid for his 2-year-old little brother getting hurt and wrapped his arms around the male offender in an attempt to stop him, from either stealing the vehicle or hurting him."

Police say Chino bit the 15-year-old's arm before the children’s dad ran out of the house and held Chino down until officers arrived at the scene.

Police reported Chino appeared to be extremely intoxicated and on drugs. Police say Chino vomited on himself and started screaming following his arrest and was transported to the hospital. Chino is also facing charges for allegedly trying to grab a police officer’s gun while at the hospital.
