ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Alleged surveillance video was able to capture some terrifying moments at a popular restaurant near UNM Main Campus on Friday evening.

As patrons of Golden Pride were eating dinner, an armed man walked in, threatened employees with a gun, got a shot off and took off with money from the register.

The video captured the suspect hopping the restaurant counter before grabbing the cash and leaving on foot. A woman who didn't want to be named told KOB the bullet he fired barely missed her family.

"We were eating and all of a sudden I had this urge to turn around and (I) saw this guy threatening the store manager," she said. "I saw the pistol rub against his head, and the next thing I know I'm telling my husband, 'Let's get out of here.'"

That's when she said the shot was fired.

"All of a sudden I saw a flash. My ears started ringing and that's when we hurried out of the north door of the building and hid by the drive-through."

The woman said the bullet struck near her table where she was sitting with her young child.

UNM police sent out an alert to students and staff, which stated the suspect is a white man in his late 20s with facial hair and gloves at the time of the incident. If you recognize him, you're encouraged to call police at (505)242-2677.
