LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - General Dynamics is opening a center for satellite tracking, telemetry and space communications at New Mexico State University's research park to work on national space and satellite programs.

The new center, called SpacePlex 2, will open July 22 at NMSU's Arrowhead Research Park. The center will add more than 15,000 square feet of office, laboratory and work areas to General Dynamic's existing presence in the research park.

Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics has supported NASA projects from NMSU in Las Cruces and the nearby White Sands complex for three decades, beginning with a 1978 contract.
