Joe Bartels is the Roswell Bureau Chief for Eyewitness News 4. You can catch him reporting from all over Southeastern New Mexico any time news happens.
Joe began reporting for KOB in August of 2009. He graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School in December of 2008. During his final semester, he reported for Cronkite NewsWatch, a 30 min live, award-winning newscast, written, reported and produced entirely by students. He reported on state-wide issues, including increases in border violence, the booming economy of Flagstaff, AZ and breaking news coverage when nearly a dozen Phoenix banks were targeted with a white powder.
His reporting has garnered local, as well as, national attention and is thrilled to be apart of the KOB family.
Joe is originally from the Chicago area, but has called Arizona home ever since his family moved there when he was 12. But if you ask him where he’s from he’ll tell you he is a Chicagoan at heart. GO CUBS!
In his free time, Joe likes to catch up with friends, go out to movies and eating.
