Alamo Navajo school gets $197K

MAGDALENA, N.M. (AP) - Federal officials say the Alamo Navajo school board in Magdalena has received a $197,360 grant aimed at improving education for Native American children.

The money is part of $3.5 million distributed to programs in 11 states.

The program is intended to help preschool preparation for Indian children and to prepare Indian high school students get ready for the transition to college or other post-secondary education.
