Fierro hit-and-run trial begins

The trial of a prominent Santa Fe attorney for a fatal hit-and-run late last year was in its second day of jury selection Wednesday morning.

Carlos Fierro is charged with vehicular homicide for allegedly hitting and killing William Tenorio in front of a Santa Fe bar last November.

A second man accused of being in Fierro’s car during the crash is also facing a charge of vehicular homicide.

A preliminary hearing for former state police officer Alfred Lovato will take place after Fierro’s trial concludes and is will determine whether there is sufficient evidence against Lov ato to proceed to trial.
