What a difference a day makes. After our newsroom was flooded with e-mails and calls complaining about Balloon Fiesta traffic on Saturday, things were much smoother on Sunday.

Most drivers say they didn't have to wait too long to get into the parking lot.

That's a far cry from Saturday, where people reported being stuck in traffic for up to three hours just to get into the park.

Drivers on Sunday morning say their wait was just a fraction of that.

Driver Gary Sanchez said his wait was, "about 15 minutes. It wasn't bad at all."

The wait was worth it to fiesta visitor Robin Day, who is visiting from Maryland.

She said, "It's not bad at all, not at all. It's well worth it. Everyone should come down for this."

APD says the key to avoiding any long traffic back-up is to leave early.

Officers say to make sure you're on the field in time for mass ascension, you need to be on the road by 4:30 a.m.
