The SUV's windshield was damaged in the collision

A balloon smashed into a parked SUV at the Balloon Fiesta's Hold'em Competition.

The accident happened Monday morning. It was the second incident that morning, after a man was ejected from another balloon.

The balloon hit the windshield of the SUV, which was parked along vendor row at Balloon Fiesta Park.

Fiesta-goer Melinda Boyer, who shot video of the collision, said she thought the outcome was going to be much worse.

"I heard him hit the truck, but I didn't know he'd hit the whole windshield. That was scary because I thought he was going to flip and this man was going to come flying out of it, but he really kept control of it, and it was amazing to see how, you know, these pilots are really experienced," she said.

Boyer says conditions were perfect when she showed up for the competition, but the winds started picking up right as the balloons began arriving at the field.
