SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson is traveling to California, Connecticut and the nation's capital later this week.
Richardson is to speak Wednesday to solar energy executives at a forum in Menlo, Calif. The governor said he will promote New Mexico as a site for solar power projects.
Richardson will be in Connecticut on Thursday to meet with the chairman of the General Electric Co. about possible uses of a plant in Albuquerque that's scheduled to close next year. The GE plant makes jet engine components.
On Friday, Richardson will be in Washington, D.C. to talk about U.S.-Latin America relations and his recent trip to Cuba. The event is hosted by NDN, a centrist think tank formerly known as the New Democratic Network.
