6’11” Los Alamos center Alex Kirk gave a verbal commitment to play basketball at UNM. He chose the Lobos over the University of Arizona. Kirk averaged over 28 points and 14 rebounds a game last season.
UNM football coach Mike Locksley said he’s not sure if freshman running back Demond Dennis would be ready to play Saturday at Wyoming. Dennis is suffering from a torn meniscus in his knee.
The UNM women’s golf team finished tied for sixth at the Windy City Collegiate Classic. Individually UNM’s Jodi Ewart finished tied for sixth.
