A driver who killed two people in Torrance County after running from a traffic stop has reached a plea deal.
Thirty-one-year-old Paul Sanchez pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide.
As part of the deal, all other charges-- including reckless driving, DWI, and drug possession-- were dropped.
Back in April, Sanchez, who was wanted in Arizona for kidnapping, was pulled over by the Mountainair police chief.
He then took off, leading the chief on a short chase.
Sanchez hit another car, killing 78-year-old Flora Chavez and her 10-year-old grandson Christopher.
Sanchez faces up to 12 years in prison. He will be sentenced in December.
