Each year, the Balloon Fiesta draws hundreds of thousands of people-- most with camera in tow.

At this year's final mass ascension, we caught up with amateur photographers who help the nine-day event live up to its billing as the most-photographed event in the world.

Photographers planned on taking hundreds of photos apiece.

California visitor Rebecca Maestas said, "Oh, I don't know. I have a Cool Pics, so I'll probably take a couple hundred."

"Oh, I'll probably take about 300 or so," Californian Marylou Hernandez predicted.

Even locals were snapping gobs of pictures.

Albuquerquean Julie Salazar predicted, "At Balloon Fiesta, probably about 900."

"Wow, I don't know. I just snap until it goes dead," Oklahoma visitor Michael Wininger said.

There are pricey cameras, disposable cameras-- even cell phone cameras all capturing Albuquerque's signature event.

"I like all the shapes, all the different colors they have here. I'm taking pictures of just about everything," Hernandez said.

Salazar said, "I think it's awesome. Being out here in the field with balloons is just like no other experience."
