Hikers located in Sandia Mountains

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Two hikers are safe after losing their way in the Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque.
The women went for a walk with their dog on a trail but couldn't find their way back. A friend called the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office when the women didn't return.
Deputies found the pair about midnight. Authorities first were able to reach the women by cell phone and then used GPS coordinates to locate them.
The women were not injured, although sheriff's Lt. David Knowles says they were not prepared for nighttime hiking.
