AZTEC, N.M. (AP) - The city of Aztec is going through a temporary change as it continues its search for a permanent city manager.

Co-Interim City Manager Rosanne Gonzales stepped down from the temporary position Friday.

She is also the city's human resources director and had been sharing the interim city manager position with Electric Director Ken George, who will remain in the post until a permanent replacement is found.

George says the change was made because both felt it was better for Aztec city employees if the personnel manager worked separately.

The vacancy opened when David Velasquez resigned as city manager in May.

The City Commission is still conducting a search for a permanent replacement.
