CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A 19-year-old Clovis woman has been arrested after investigators said she tried to smuggle drugs into the Curry County jail.

Marina Lopez was being held on $105,000 bond.

Curry County Sheriff's investigators intercepted telephone calls from the jail and learned inmate Michael Padilla had asked Lopez to deliver narcotics to a detention officer for him.

Authorities say Lopez was arrested Monday when she met a sheriff's investigator who was posing as a detention officer at a Clovis business to deliver the a package containing approximately half a gram of meth, seven grams of marijuana, tobacco and rolling papers.
