ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A former nuclear physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory says FBI agents have seized computers, papers, books and electronic equipment from his home.

P. Leonardo Mascheroni says four FBI agents who conducted a 13-hour search of his Los Alamos home Monday led him to believe they were investigating him for espionage.

No charges have been filed.

FBI spokesman Darrin Jones confirmed Wednesday the agency was pursuing an ongoing investigation in Los Alamos but declined further comment.

Mascheroni worked in the lab's X Division, which does nuclear weapons design, until 1988.

He says the investigation resulted from a meeting he had with a representative from the Venezuelan government and his longtime criticism of the U.S. government's nuclear program.
