CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A 36-year-old Clovis man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for molesting a 10-year-old girl.

Nick Trujillo's sentence was handed down Thursday by state District Judge Stephen Quinn. Prosecutors say Trujillo was convicted in May of criminal sexual contact with a minor.

District Attorney Matthew Chandler says a 10-year-old girl told her aunt and father in January 2008 that her mother's boyfriend had made her touch him inappropriately.

Trujillo must serve five years' probation after his release and register as a sex offender.
