Finalists for school president expected Tuesday

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A list of finalists for New Mexico State University president was expected to be announced Tuesday by the state Board of Regents.

Presidential search committee chairman Del Archuleta is scheduled to report the committee's recommendations to the Board of Regents at a special meeting Tuesday on the Las Cruces campus.

Archuleta said the search committee will recommend at least five candidates to the board.

Archuleta couldn't disclose any information about the finalists, but said he's proud of the committee's efforts to conduct the search within the guidelines set forth by the university and the regents.

Once the finalists are selected, the next step will be campus interviews of each candidate.
