Albuquerque police and Bernalillo County deputies are boosting their presence for Halloween on Saturday.

The sheriff’s department is conducting Operation Boo and have extra patrols on the streets.

APD will also have extra patrols as well as advice: “Try to hit the neighborhoods you’re familiar with and neighbors you know,” said APD spokesman John Walsh. “Always check candy and if you have any questions, simply get rid of it.

“And if you see anything suspicious, you’re asked to call 911 immediately,” he added.

Fire stations throughout the county will be handing out reflective bags for trick or treaters to collect their loot in between 5:00 and 8:00 Halloween evening.
