Sack lunches were given out Sunday by Joy Junction
A metro-area homeless shelter started a new program Sunday to make sure hungry people are fed every day of the week.
Joy Junction handed out sack lunches to anyone who needed them in downtown Albuquerque.
Jeremy Reynalds, who runs Joy Junction, says there are limited downtown missions that serve food on Sundays.
"Probably if you're homeless in downtown Albuquerque on Sunday, you're probably going to end up being hungry as well," he said.
The sack lunches included a sandwich, drink and canned fruit. The shelter also handed out blankets.
