SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico health officials say a 4-year-old boy from San Juan County is among the latest state residents to die from the swine flu.

Authorities say the boy did not have any chronic medical condition that would have put him at higher risk for serious complications.

Health officials say five others also died in the last week, including an 11-year-old Albuquerque boy on Sunday.

That brings the total to 26 deaths in New Mexico this year related to the swine flu.

The latest deaths include a 27-year-old female from Doņa Ana County without chronic medical conditions, a 53-year-old male from McKinley County without chronic medical conditions, a 53-year-old male from Bernalillo County with chronic medical conditions, and a 51-year-old male from Valencia County with chronic medical conditions.

Officials say a 49-year-old man whose death was reported last week has been determined to be a resident of another state and is no longer included in the New Mexico deaths.

People with chronic health conditions are at higher risk for developing complications from the swine flu virus and should get vaccinated.
