TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, N.M. (AP) - A new military museum named after a state representative who is a military wife and mother will be dedicated and opened to the public on Veterans Day.

The opening next Wednesday will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the museum.

Officials say the unanimous choice of the museum committee for the name was Rep. Dianne Miller Hamilton, a Republican who represents Grant and Sierra counties. She has supported the museum as well as numerous other veteran and military issues.

The chair of the museum committee, Bobby Allen, says veterans issues have always been a focus for Hamilton because her husband and three of her children served in the military.
