With the #1 pick in the 2009 D’League draft the Albuquerque Thunderbirds selected Carlos Powell, a 6’7” forward out of South Carolina. The thunderbirds also drafted former Lobo Chad Toppert.
The UNM women’s soccer team lost to BYU, 1-0, in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
The UNM women’s volleyball team beat Utah in four games. It’s the first time since 1996 the Lobos have swept the Utes. UNM will host BYU on Saturday.
