Some fans opted for space blankets at Monday's Lobo game

After some growling from Lobo fans, the University of New Mexico is making changes at the Pit to make the arena more comfortable during its renovation.

The Pit is an open air basketball arena of sorts. There are no doors because of the renovations.

To keep people warm, the general contractor installed air curtains to keep cold air out. But they may not be having the intended effect.

We found some people using space blankets used for camping as they watched the women's basketball game Monday night.

Some fans we talked to said the temperature was fine. But others sitting closer to the concourse said it was very cold.

Another concern fans expressed was the lack of lighting outside, especially around the temporary toilets. Monday, there were lights around and even in the stalls.

Renovations to the Pit are expected to last about another year. You can see a list of other changes here.
