57-year-old arrested for sex with California girl

Authorities have arrested a 57-year-old Albuquerque man after police say he met a 16-year-old California girl on the Internet and drove her to New Mexico, where they had sex and the man took bondage fetish photos of her.
Edward Christy was arrested Monday. He faces charges of second-degree criminal sexual penetration, custodial interference and sexual exploitation of children.
Authorities say Christy met the girl on a dating Web site. He told Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies he drove to Westminster, Calif., to pick her up Sunday. Christy said he made the trip after the girl threatened to kill herself.
Police say they had sex at a hotel in Needles, Calif., and at Christy's home. Deputies found the girl Monday, tied by her wrists and neck while being photographed at Christy's home. The man also admitted to buying dog cages and bondage items to “facilitate her sexual fantasies.”
Deputies arriving on scene said they saw flashes from a camera and found the suspect taking pictures.
Police say the suspect initially said he thought the girl was 18. But when confronted with an e-mail correspondence he had with the girl discussing the her age, Christy allegedly said he knew the girl was 16.
Deputies are searching the suspect’s South Valley home for evidence of other possible victims. Christy could face federal charges.
He is jailed on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
