NM man killed standing on Interstate 25

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A 36-year-old Las Cruces man standing in the middle of Interstate 25 near Hatch on Monday night was killed when he was hit by a truck.
Authorities say Brian J. Hasslinger was killed instantly about 8:30 p.m. when he was hit by a northbound semi truck without a trailer.
State police Capt. Rich Libicer says it was dark and by the time the truck driver could tell a person was standing on the roadway, there was little he could do.
Libicer says Hasslinger did not appear to be a stranded motorist since there was no vehicle in the area.
