A 12-year-old Los Alamos boy who was struck by a truck Wednesday evening has died, officials at UNM Hospital said.

A memorial was set up Thursday at the crosswalk where the accident happened, not far from Los Alamos Middle School, which the 7th grader attended.

Logan Collins was transported to UNM Hospital after he was struck by a Chevy Avalanche truck after exiting a city bus, Los Alamos police said.

Police say the driver of the truck has not been charged in the incident.

"At this point we can't really comment," Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy said. "It's still under investigation; however we do know that the roadway is quite wide there and the bus was pulled all the way to the right side of the roadway, and at this point we are still putting the pieces of the investigation together."

A memorial fund at Los Alamos National Bank has been set up in the boy's name.
