Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputies said Juan Galindo was arrested and charged with raping a one-month-old baby girl.

Deputies said she was found dead in a Southwest Albuquerque home early Thursday morning.

Galindo, 37, is charged with aggravated sexual penetration of a minor and child abuse resulting in death.

Deputies responded to a 911 call at 1925 Lake Southwest around 4 a.m. on Thursday. Lt. David Knowles said police interviewed several people who were at the home when they arrived, including Galindo.

"Since early this morning, detectives have been on scene investigating this crime conducting many different aspects from neighborhood canvas to forensic evidence examination and collection, to statements from those that were at the location upon deputies arrival," Knowles said.

Galindo has been arrested several times in the past, including this past May.

He was charged with drug trafficking and tampering with evidence.

Knowles said authorities are still trying to determine the relationship between Galindo and the baby.
