LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A former Las Cruces basketball coach who is accused of having child pornography on his computer has been charged with 15 counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports that 32-year-old Eric B. Khan was arrested earlier this month after detectives searched his home.
His arraignment has been set for May 29.
A forensics expert says an automated software program had turned up the possibility that Khan's computer had downloaded or shared child pornography.
Police said they discovered hundreds of computer files containing child pornography in Khan's residence.
The Las Cruces Public School District immediately fired Khan from his coaching job at Picacho Middle School.
Officials say Khan will not be allowed to return to the school district.
