ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The FBI is looking for the public's help in solving the 1994 murder of a Rio Rancho father.

Authorities in Albuquerque are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in Jeff Oelcher's death.

The 28-year-old Oelcher was driving an armored van on a stretch of highway between Grants and Socorro when he was ambushed and fatally shot in the head.

Authorities believe a man was lying in wait in the bed of a pickup truck on the side of the road on Aug. 25, 1994 and opened fire, possibly with a .223-caliber rifle.

The other courier in the van returned fire, and the truck fled northwest on Highway 6 toward Interstate 40 without any money.

The surviving carrier said the shooter had dark skin and was dressed in camouflage.
