SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Crime in Santa Fe now can be reported to police online.

The Santa Fe Police Department says the reporting system allows members of the public to file a report without having to talk with an officer.

The system isn't set up for emergencies.

Authorities say incidents must have no known suspect and occur within the city limits.

Police review the reports to determine whether an investigation is warranted.

The department says the reporting option will free up more officers to address community needs.
