The FBI has arrested the man suspected of robbing a New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union branch while carrying a gun on Monday.

Georges M. Hyatt, 45, of Moriarty, is being held in connection with the armed robbery of New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union on Indian School NE in Albuquerque.

Witnesses say a heavily tattooed, barefoot man entered New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, put a handgun on a teller's counter and demanded money.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and left in a vehicle.

Hyatt is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Friday.

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Repeat Offender Project team arrested Hyatt at a motel in the city Wednesday.

The U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office also assisted in the investigation.

The FBI is investigating whether the same suspect also robbed Bank of the West, 5401 Gibson Boulevard SE, on Tuesday.
