ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court Judge Cristina Jaramillo is among five applicants for a vacant state district court judgeship in Albuquerque.

A bipartisan Judicial Nominating Commission meets Aug. 9 in Albuquerque to screen the applicants and recommend candidates to Gov. Susana Martinez for possible appointment to the 2nd Judicial District court.

Other applicants for the judgeship are Albuquerque lawyers Jonathan L. Ibarra, Jeff Rein, Jennifer E. Romero and Amy Sirignano.

The governor's appointee will succeed District Judge Theresa Baca, who is retiring.
