It's time to go back to school shopping again - and this is the perfect weekend to do it.

New Mexico's tax-free weekend kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday.

Gov. Susana Martinez says the tax money lost to the state will be well worth the benefit to students who need to get their things for school.

We caught up with one Albuquerque mom who is a self-proclaimed penny pincher.

"I do take advantage of it," said Kelly Whittemore. "I have to admit I do not like the huge crowds when it comes to tax-free. So.. I don't consider that to be really that great of a deal because I can find things that are 10-15% off, right there's the tax and more."

Retail sales during this three-day holiday are estimated to increase statewide, by up to $25 million dollars.

We've put together a list of items that will be tax free this weekend - check it out here.

And remember, all next week, we'll help you get prepared by running our week-long back to school series.
