ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Gov. Susana Martinez on Monday announced her latest plan for making New Mexico friendlier for businesses.

Martinez says she is eliminating an annual $100 registration fee that companies pay to do business with the state.

Martinez says the fee elimination builds on other efforts to promote business here.  Those include an online system for approving and revising construction plans, and the state's move toward a web-based procurement system.

She says the fee raised $158,000 for the state each year, money that originally was intended to offset the application costs. But she says it is no longer necessary since all the work can be done online.
