A Native American male walked into the Pros Ranch Market in Atrisco Plaza just before 4:00 p.m. threatening he was in possession of a bomb, Albuquerque police said.

Police said  the subject had a suitcase.

Employees told police that the subject had had an argument with employees earlier in the week.

The entire strip mall had been placed on lockdown as police tried to begin a dialogue with the subject who was sitting on a bench in front of the business.

Two hours later, police said the man was in custody without incident.

Police said because the subject said he had a bomb, bomb technicians made a decision to neutralize the suitcase before opening it for examination.

No explosives were located.

The subject was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for evaluation, police said.

Detectives will be investigating the incident.

Roads in and around the Plaza were shut down during the incident.
