New Mexico Supreme Court Justice to receive award from Hispanic bar group

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Retiring New Mexico Supreme Court Justice Patricio Serna is being honored by the Hispanic National Bar Association.

Serna will receive a lifetime achievement award on Aug. 25 at the group's convention in Seattle.

He is retiring at the end of the month after serving 16 years on the state's highest court.

Next month, Serna also will receive a similar award at a gathering of the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund in San Antonio.
